What does paraphrasing actually change?
The wording and the sentence shape, not the meaning. TextAI swaps vocabulary, splits or merges clauses and changes the rhythm, while keeping every fact, name and number from the original. If a detail disappears in the rewrite, regenerate — that is a failure, not a stylistic choice.
How is this different from rewriting or summarising?
A summary is shorter and drops detail on purpose. A rewrite improves quality and may shift what you emphasise. A paraphrase stays roughly the same length and says the same thing differently. Choose paraphrase when the content is already right and only the wording is wrong.
Why do people paraphrase?
To escape a sentence they have rewritten four times and still hate. To say the same thing to a second person without copy-pasting. To cool down a line that reads sharper than intended. To put a phrase from a source into their own words.
A note on academic use
Paraphrasing a source still requires a citation. Changing the words does not change whose idea it is, and most institutions treat unattributed paraphrase exactly as they treat unattributed quotation. Use the tool to write in your own voice, then cite as normal.
