How it works in WhatsApp

  1. 1Add the TextAI keyboard once in Settings and allow Full Access.
  2. 2In WhatsApp, long-press the globe key and switch to TextAI.
  3. 3Paste the message you're answering, or select your own draft.
  4. 4Tap a tool, then Insert. Long-press the globe to switch back.

Can TextAI read my WhatsApp chats?

No. iOS keyboards can only see the text field you are typing in, never the conversation above it, and TextAI only sends text when you tap a tool. To give it the full context, copy the message you are replying to, or take a screenshot and share it with Reply with TextAI.

Does it work in WhatsApp groups?

Yes, the keyboard works in any chat, group or one-to-one, and in status replies. Group chats are where Make it shorter and Change tone earn their keep: long messages get skipped and tone carries further with more people reading.

Is this the same as Meta AI in WhatsApp?

No. Meta AI is a chatbot inside WhatsApp that you talk to. TextAI is a keyboard that helps you write the messages you send to people, and it works the same way in iMessage, Instagram, Gmail and every other app. TextAI is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta.

Voice notes and other languages

TextAI works with text, so it cannot listen to voice notes, but it can write in the language you choose, which helps in international groups. If someone writes to you in another language, ask the Assistant tab and it returns a translation card with the original one tap away.
